A day in the life of...Mark Williams

Disney 2010

Our trip to Disney over Thanksgiving was AMAZING!!  Like any vacation to Disney, it wasn't restful.  It was, however, refreshing.  It was just the four of us.  No specific time schedule.  No one to meet up with at a certain time.  Just our family enjoying the most magical place on earth.  People either love Disney World or hate it.  I fall into the "Love it" category.  I'm cool with that. 

Why?  It's the place where fantasy meets reality.  It's a place where the creative gifts of so many people come together to create an EXPERIENCE that is incredible.  I like things that are creative.  Disney is the best at that!!  I like it because my family enjoys "getting away" there.  We enjoy the food.  We enjoy the family time.  And we enjoy being in "another world", even if for a short time.  Are there other, more relaxing vacations?  Sure.  But Disney is pretty cool....and we'll definitely be back!!

Paint and Pals.....with friends

Tonight, Melanie and I went to Paint and Pals for a date.  We had two other couples along with us.  We had a great time laughing, painting and enjoying time together.  Below is a picture of my finished product.  I am pretty pleased with it.  Being the first time I've painted a picture in probably 20 years, I think it turned out well.  Anyway, it was a good evening and date.

Great American Road Trip

Here is a story about 3 guys who drove through the 48 states in 106 hours.  Every state in the continental U.S.  Wow.  Now that is creativity.

Today is Lemonade Day for Micah.  Come by between 3:10 & 5:00 P.M. this afternoon.

Half Brained and Creativity

Here is an excellent article by Mark Batterson on Half-brained preaching.  It deals with creativity in communicating with people.  My favorite quote in the article is "creativity is hard work. It is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration. But creativity is also what gets people’s attention, changes their perspective, and keeps ministry from becoming monotonous."

It takes work for the creative process to happen.  However, the creative process doesn't end with the idea.  It carries through to the implementation of the message.  If the message isn't communicated clearly, then the creative process was not completly thought through.  Just my two cents.
