As I've been reading through the Bible this year, I am constantly reminded of the CRAZINESS of God's Word. I mean.....really. As I read, I come across things that are bizarre, things that are just down right weird (to our culture at least), and things that are plain funny.
But you know what I believe the craziest thing is in the Word? That an all-knowing, all-powerful God would love me so much to sacrifice His Son to take the punishment for my sins. Without the Cross of Christ, there is only condemnation. That is CRAZY!! And I love it!!
I am reminded as I read through the Word that God's love is unconditional. It's about the redemption of a broken relationship. The outpouring of grace is incomprehensible at times. God is full of justice, mercy, grace, and love. All at the same time.
To know that I have the Holy Spirit living IN ME is CRAZY. Inside of me. Dang!! The power of God is within this temple. Humbling, scary, and CRAZY all at one time. Do you and I realize what potential lies within the power of the Holy Spirit? I would like to say I do. But often, I don't live like I have that power within me. Yet, the Word of God has given us that promise of the Holy Spirit as a "deposit". I pray that I never "get over" the craziness of serving Jesus.
